About David
techspot.tv – a blog by David McClelland
David’s Twitter profile (@davidmcclelland) describes him as a “Technophile, media whore, luvvie and lover”. ”Cheap rates, London SW14″, he adds.
It’s all true: David has worked in both the media and the technology worlds for over 15 years in a career that has seen him travel the world talking tech with Reuters, make robots do silly things at IBM and get booed off the stage in the West End.
David is a television presenter specialising in science and technology, fronting shows both online and on-screen most of which you’ll probably never get to see. David has been a face or voice of brands as diverse as Alstom Energy, Microsoft, Sony, Goodwood Revival, Tech City UK, Senior Market Mobile, Machine Mart, Brave New Talent, VideoJug and The Environment Agency; elsewhere David has appeared on BBC regional television and radio and presented TV sports news bulletins for the south region. When wearing his geeky hat David also writes about iPhones, iPads, digital cameras and all manner of gadgets for titles including Wired UK, Computer Weekly and eHow; David is also a contributing editor at Incisive Media, whose titles include Computing Magazine, and presents on many of their website’s technology videos and live shows.
In a previous life David regularly made a fool of himself on stage, and occasionally still appears in Christmas pantomimes – oh yes he does.
